In Memory of Barry "Moose" Turner

Class of 1973
Douglas S. Freeman High School

|
TURNER, BARRY Sunday, December 7, 2014 12:01 am TURNER, Barry Glen "Moose," passed peacefully from this life on November 25, 2014. Born in Virginia Beach, Va. on January 1, 1955, he was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Emma Walker and Thomas Elma Turner Jr.; and brother, Thomas Elma Turner III. Barry is survived by his sisters, Terry Anita Turner Selbert of Flat Rock, Va., Cheryl Lynn Turner of Monticello, Fla., Cathy Schaefer Turner of Rockford, Illinois; nieces, Kate Selbert, Lydia Johnson (Aaron), Laura Stone (Jahleel), Sarah Falk (Ian); and nephews, Jesse (Sonia) and Sam (Sara) Selbert and Seth (Jessica) and Ty Turner; eight great-nieces and nephews, Simon, Natalie, Miriam, Audrey, Judah, Roman, Levi and Vivien. Barry was the smartest, wittiest man we ever knew. From trivia genius to restoring a Victorian home, he was a master. Barry loved his carpentry friends, his brothers and sisters from Douglas S. Freeman High School and his family. We all adored him. We love you Uncle Barry. Miss you always and love you forever. As per Barry's wishes, his remains were donated to the Anatomical Society so others can live. There will be a memorial stone for Barry at Riverview Cemetery. |
